Together with her husband Roger, Sue has put green energy at the heart of a recent property transformation with heat pump, solar panels, insulation, underfloor heating and a battery power wall enabling them to reduce their own personal footprint and bring bills down.

“We were lucky to have the opportunity and it has been an eye opener on what’s possible and also what can be controlled via an app on your phone!” Roger commented.

“One of the most exciting things has been to see the car battery being charged by the solar panels from our mobile. Amazing. It has helped us to feel good about our impact on the world and certainly reduced our reliance on the grid and the petrol pump.”

Sue added: “It has also fired our enthusiasm to play more of a role in helping companies tell their stories of conversion and retrofit to build a greener economy.”

“It’s estimated that in the UK we need to retro fit 19 million homes – that is a huge ask and needs super scale collaboration and investment – not least a public willingness to embrace what’s possible.
